Greg Bird is CEO and owner of Jetta Operating Company, Inc. With over 35 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, he formerly worked for Hunt Energy Corporation and was a partner with Cawley Gillespie & Associates, a petroleum consulting firm. He has expertise in reservoir engineering, reservoir management and economic analysis and has served as a professional witness in federal and state courts. His professional associations include the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Fort Worth Wildcatters. Greg is supportive of the community, previously serving as board president for the Boy Scouts of America’s Longhorn Council (2010-2012), the Fort Worth Petroleum Club and the Botanical Institute of Texas. He currently serves as board president for the Boy Scouts of America’s Longhorn Council Foundation. Greg is also engaged in education, serving as a board member for Texas A&M University’s Petroleum Engineering Industry Board.

Greg was recently named a Finalist in the 2020 Southwest Region for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award. He is also the recipient of numerous BSA awards: the 2018 Distinguished Citizen Award, the Engineering “Good Scout” Award (2002), the Silver Beaver Award and the National Eagle Scout Association’s Outstanding Eagle Scout Award. In 2013, he was inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Graduates for the Petroleum Engineering department at Texas A&M University. Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.

 

Laura Bird

VICE PRESIDENT - FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

Laura has over 40 years’ experience in the development and construction industry including retail, residential, education, public facilities, non-profit, high rise and tenant improvement construction. In her early work, she gained hands-on field knowledge as she worked to complete her formal education. Laura’s primary career focus has been on creating interdisciplinary teams to plan and build aesthetically significant and purposeful environments that support the health, wellness and lifestyle of their occupants. Three of the projects she has been a part of are AIA award winners. Laura has worked for general contractors J.W. Bateson and Linbeck Construction; multiple developers including Lincoln Property Company; and has volunteered for non-profits during building campaigns. Most recently, Laura has completed Frost Tower Fort Worth, a 25-story building located in downtown. Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction (Construction Science) from the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University.

 

Gordon Roberts

SR. VICE PRESIDENT - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Gordon began working at Jetta in January 2000 as a geologist for the Gulf Coast region. In addition to the Eastern U.S. division, Gordon oversees new ventures as well the coordination of acquisition and divestiture efforts. Gordon started his oil and gas career with Bass Enterprises in 1995 as a geologist after graduating from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor’s degree in Geology and Economics. He has over 19 years of oil and gas industry experience and was listed in Oil and Gas Investors Who’s Who in Energy & Production, Acquisitions & Divestitures in 2011.

Gordon enjoys being active within the Fort Worth community. In addition to being the Fort Worth Petroleum Club President 2014-2015, he is a member of the Fort Worth Wildcatter’s Association, Fort Worth Club, American Association Petroleum Geologists and Fort Worth Geology Society. He is a board member of the Fort Worth Oil Information Library and Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

SR. VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Jim began working at Jetta in the Business Development Group in October 2010. Prior to joining Jetta, Jim worked on the acquisition and divestitures team at Legacy Investments, Inc. and as an analyst at Petrie Parkman & Co. Jim graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2005 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with majors in Business Honors and Accounting and a Master in Professional Accounting. Jim is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.

Brian joined the Jetta team in July 2014, working within the business development and finance groups. Prior to joining Jetta, he worked within the assurance group of Ernst & Young Fort Worth on behalf of various public and private energy clients and has also served as an adjunct professor for the TCU Energy MBA program. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Accounting summa cum laude and a Master of Accounting degree from Texas Christian University. Brian is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.

Zach Nix

VICE PRESIDENT - DRILLING & OPERATIONS

Zach joined the Jetta team in May of 2011 as Operations Supervisor. Prior to joining the company, Zach held a variety of operations, engineering and management positions for a number of industry companies managing projects throughout the US and Eastern Europe. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering as well as an Executive Masters of Business Administration in Energy from the University of Oklahoma. Zach is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Association of Drilling Engineers.

 

Amy Patterson

VICE PRESIDENT - GEOLOGY

Amy began working for Jetta Operating in 2012. Prior to joining Jetta, Amy worked for EOG Resources, Inc. for 7 years. She has worked the Fort Worth Basin, East Texas, and West Texas in her time as a geologist. She has been an active member in the geology community by serving on Fort Worth Geological Society Board, Southwest Section AAPG Board, Texas Alliance of Energy Producers Board, and is currently Chair for the Southwest Section AAPG Imperial Barrel Award Competition. She earned her B.S and M.S Geology degrees from TCU in 2001 and 2010, respectively. She serves her alma mater currently on the Block T (Lettermen) Association Board and has served on TCU Clark Society Board in years past.

Blake joined the Jetta team in June 2009. During his time with Jetta, he has focused on reservoir engineering, stimulation, and the development of both conventional and unconventional assets across the state of Texas. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and has served as an officer in the Fort Worth Section since 2016, including Chairperson 2019-2020. Blake earned a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University in 2009.

Michael Chad Parsons, who serves as Jetta’s Vice President and General Counsel, joined the Jetta team in April 2014 as in-house attorney. Prior to joining Jetta, Chad worked as a staff attorney for Quicksilver Resources Inc. and in private practice. Chad received a Bachelor of Science degree magna cum laude from Texas Christian University in 1998 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Chad is Board Certified in Oil, Gas & Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

 

Shannon McPearson

VICE PRESIDENT - CONTROLLER AND TREASURER

Shannon has been part of the Jetta team since 2011 and has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. She is responsible for the review and consolidation of the financial statements as well as the general oversight of treasury activities. Prior to joining Jetta, Shannon worked for Enron, Fortis Energy Marketing & Trading and UBS Warburg Energy in various accounting roles. Shannon received a B.S. degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Houston and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.

 

Misty Farr

VICE PRESIDENT - HUMAN RESOURCES

Misty joined Jetta in December 2019 as Vice President of Human Resources. She brings over 20 years of HR experience to Jetta – spanning industries including telecommunications, manufacturing, financial services, non-profit social services and technology – from her work at companies such as Fidelity Investments and Sabre, Inc. She received her BBA in Human Resources in 1997 and MBA in Strategic Management in 2010 from the University of North Texas. Misty is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management and the Fort Worth Human Resources Association.

 

Brad Whitnell

VICE PRESIDENT - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Brad oversees all aspects of Jetta’s midstream businesses – commercial strategy, business development, budgeting, operations, engineering, regulatory compliance, and land management. Since joining Jetta in 2012, he has led water, natural gas, oil, and electrical projects across the United States to support Jetta’s oil and gas development. Before joining Anthracite, Brad served in multiple leadership roles as an officer in the United States Army. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Honors) from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

 

Mike Richardson

PRESIDENT OF UNCONVENTIONAL STRATEGY

Michael F. Richardson leads the engineering and development efforts at Jetta and has been with the company since 2000. With over 34 years in the oil & gas industry, he has extensive experience in reservoir engineering, stimulation, production, A&D, and field development across multiple basins and field types including both conventional and unconventional resources. Mike has worked at Exxon Mobil and held key positions with Union Pacific Resources. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, has served as chairman of the Fort Worth section, and has authored numerous technical papers. Michael earned his B.S. degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University in 1989.
